Aeropress

A Guide to Brewing the Perfect Cup

An Introduction

The AeroPress coffee maker is a small, fast and portable manual coffee maker created by Alan Adler, the founder of AeroPress, Inc. Its design is similar to a syringe, having a long, round chamber and a plunger with an airtight silicone seal.

This full immersion coffee press produces a smooth and bright tasting cup of coffee.

As always, be sure to read the directions that come with your equipment carefully as the brewing steps may differ from brand to brand.

What you’ll Need

AeroPress Coffee Maker
Finely Ground Coffee
Kettle
Paper Filter
Fellow Prismo Attachment (Optional)
Burr Grinder (Optional)

Brew Time

1-2 min (30-120 seconds)

Step 1

Heat water in kettle until temperature reaches about 175°F (80°C).

Grind beans in grinder (or use ground coffee)… finely ground coffee produces a better taste.

Step 2

Add coffee and water to Aeropress cylinder and stir for 30-90 seconds.

Press the plunger down through the cylinder. This forces the coffee through a paper filter and cap at the bottom of the chamber.

Step 3

Your coffee is ready to drink. Fast, easy and delicious!

Step 4

Cleaning your Aeropress Coffee Maker is a breeze too! Unscrew the top and dump the used coffee grounds into the trash. Rinse components with hot water and mild detergent or put in top shelf of dishwasher.
